1 tsp Dijon mustard
2 tbsp red wine vinegar
1-2 cloves garlic – minced
1-2 tbsp honey
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
- Before You Start
- Go ahead and preheat your grill to medium-high heat. While it’s heating, prep everything so it’s ready to go—slice the steak into strips, clean and cut your vegetables, and have your salad ingredients prepped. Make the dressing as well. This should take about 20–30 minutes, and by the time you’re done, your grill will be hot and ready. Once you start cooking, things move fast, so you don’t want to be doing any extra prep at that point.
- Prep the steak
- Cut the steak into strips about 1/2 inch thick. Place steak strips, olive oil, salt and pepper into a zip top bag or a container w/lid.
- The Vegetables
- Clean the mushrooms, then trim the ends of the stems. If you’re using portobellos, go ahead and remove the stems and gills.
- Slice the onion into 1/2 inch slices
- Clean the corn on the cob and cut in half
- Drizzle olive oil over the vegetables, coating well, season with salt and pepper
- The Salad
- Clean the iceberg and romaine lettuce, cut into bite size pieces.
- Wash the tomatoes. Cut into bite size pieces if your using heirlooms.
- Slice the red onion into thin slices, cut into bite size pieces or leave in rings
- The Dressing
- Mince the garlic and add to a small jar with a lid
- Add remaining ingredients – olive oil, A1 steak sauce, Dijon mustard, red wine vinegar, honey, salt and pepper to the jar with the garlic. Shake or stir to combine.
- The Grill
- Step 1:
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. With the oil on the steak and vegetables, watch for flare-ups—they can sneak up fast. Cooking time will vary depending on the temp you like your steaks. - Step 2:
Grill the vegetables until just tender with a little bite, and cook the steak strips to your liking. They cook quickly, so don’t wander too far. 🔥 - Assemble
- Start with a layer of the chopped lettuce, then tomatoes, grilled mushrooms and onions.
- Top with the steak strips, red onion, pepperoncini, and bleu cheese.
- Finish it off with the A1 Vinaigrette.
