Hi, I’m Linn — the cook, writer, flavor chaser, and slightly rogue kitchen mind behind Honey & Habaneros.
I’ve spent more than 20 years working in the restaurant industry and have worked every position in the field. From busser to management. Long shifts, busy weekends, holiday rushes, feeding crowds, working tired, cooking fast — all of it taught me not only how to cook, but how to make food work in real life.
But honestly?
Some of the most important things I learned about cooking didn’t happen in restaurant kitchens.
They happened at home.
Like a lot of people, I found myself juggling work, family, responsibilities, hobbies, exhaustion, tight grocery budgets, and the constant question of:
“What are we going to eat tonight?”
And after enough drive-thru runs, last-minute takeout, and standing in front of the refrigerator completely worn out, I realized something had to change.
- I didn’t need gourmet.
- I needed practical.
I needed meals that tasted homemade without spending all day in the kitchen. I needed ingredients that could stretch into multiple dinners. I needed systems that worked during busy weeks, long shifts, and real life — not perfect life.
That’s really where Honey & Habaneros began.
Around here, cooking isn’t about perfection. It’s about building a kitchen that works for you. A kitchen that feels welcoming, flexible, comforting, creative, and maybe just a little rebellious sometimes too.
Here You’ll find:
- Practical recipes for busy weeks
- Cozy comfort food
- Freezer-friendly meals
- Meal-prep shortcuts
- Bold flavors
- Budget-conscious cooking
- Cook-once-eat-all-week ideas
- And plenty of “make it work with what you’ve got” energy
Because I truly believe homemade food doesn’t have to be complicated to be meaningful.
These days, home is tucked up in the mountains, where life feels a little quieter, coffee tastes a little better, and the kitchen is almost always the warmest room in the house. Honey & Habaneros reflects that feeling too — relaxed, welcoming, practical, and built around the idea that good food should fit into real life.
So whether you’re here looking for a quick weeknight dinner, a cozy soup for a rainy day, a budget-friendly meal plan, or just a little kitchen inspiration after a long shift, I hope you find something here that makes life easier and tastes really good too.
Pull up a chair, stay awhile, and make yourself at home. 🧡🌶️
